On Tuesday, Samaa TV reported that the PSL governing council meeting had come to an end. The council decided to hold the domestic PSL tournament from February 8 to March 24 PSL 2024 News. The PCB informed the sponsors and production staff regarding this decision.

However, Samaa TV  sources claimed that due to the general elections, holding the initial stage of the PSL in Pakistan is impossible. Therefore, Zaka Ashraf, the PCB management committee chairman, suggested holding the tournament abroad, but the PSL franchises had reservations about it. They advocated for hosting the PSL in Pakistan, considering it the country’s brand.

The franchises also argued that holding the tournament abroad would increase the expenses. They decided to seek permission to hold the PSL in Pakistan and would consider holding it abroad only if the interior ministry failed to provide security during the elections.

Sources revealed in September that the PCB was considering hosting the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Dubai. The decision stemmed from the anticipated general elections in the country and aimed to curtail the expenses of local administrations.
